ALERT- Pace Gathers Information for Union Members
As Pace President I wanted to inform members of the upcoming decision by the City of Atlanta's Mayor, reducing 165 positions across various departments to meet the budget deficits. PACE is making every effort to obtain the list of positions slated for the layoffs, however; PACE was informed today that the department of Public Works will not have any layoffs in filled positions. According to statements in a hand delivered letter from Mayor Franklin to the City Council on July 10, she indicated public safety will not be totally spared. See Letter from Mayor Franklin. (city of Atlanta Website) Recently - PACE attorneys spoke before the Civil Service Board on behalf of PACE Union Members who were previously RIFFED to litigate the issue of improper RIF procedures. PACE will keep members informed of the outcome. Please continue to read your emails for notification of updates to the websites. |
